With image, poetry, music, journaling, and some history of theology sprinkled in, Kyndall will lead us through a rich exploration of the gendering of God. We will explore feminine imagery for God in a contemplative setting, allowing participants to gently unpack the damage patriarchy has left on their souls and the way an overly masculine-presenting God may have disrupted or distorted our sense of connection with the Divine.

Rev. Kyndall Rae Rothaus is an award-winning speaker, preacher and spoken word artist. She spent eight years as Senior Pastor in Baptist churches in Texas, where she left a legacy of fighting for LGBTQ+ inclusion in the church. She now focuses on helping individuals heal from religious trauma and re-imagine their spirituality. She has authored two books, including Thy Queendom Come: Breaking Free from Patriarchy to Save Your Soul (2021). Her writing has appeared in many publications including Faith and Leadership, Ethics Daily, Review and Expositor, Baptist News Global, and The Upper Room Disciplines. She is the co-founder and director of Nevertheless She Preached, a national, ecumenical preaching conference designed to elevate the voices of womxn on the margins. Kyndall is a queer woman and the single mom of two adopted children who are the biggest joys of her life.
