“Seek the Lord while he may be found,
call him while he is near.”         Is 55:6

This Advent I seek a deep awareness of the nearness of the Lord.

I want to notice his presence when I sit to pray.

I want to see his eyes in the eyes of those around me – certainly in my family members and friends, but also in the strangers, and in the little children I encounter at Target, Starbucks, or the grocery store.

I want to hear his voice coming out of my mouth and the mouths of others when we sing and worship.

I want to feel his hands in those of the ministers that offer me Holy Communion, and to taste his body and blood in the bread and wine.

I call to you, Lord!  In your nearness, help me to be a seeker.

Alleluia, Alleluia!
