“Peace!  Be Still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was calm.  Mark 4:39

Jesus calmed the seas for the disciples, but also admonished them for being frightened when they should have had faith of His protection during the storm.  There are times in my life when I wish the storms of life would suddenly cease and calm would fall over everything.  I have come to recognize that when I am troubled, this is a time to double down in prayer.  I need to make extra time to sit with the Lord and ask Him to renew and strengthen my faith.  Up to this point, no problems have been instantly resolved during prayer, but I have gained clarity and fortitude to endure the trials.  I invite you this Lent, to notice what troubles you and offer these fears and burdens to the Lord.  Be Still and notice the Sacred.
