“Rivers of living water will flow from within him.” John 7:38

The reflections in the lake of the majestic mountains which surround it captured my attention.   Perhaps those shadowy mountain reflections are somewhat like the dim reflection I am of the Christ. And the only thing that empowers this hazy likeness is the living water of Christ within me.

I’ve always felt close to God when I have been near the water. Gurgling brooks, running streams, rivers and the oceans both calm and raging make me aware of the immensity and closeness of the Eternal One. Just being on the shore provides me spiritual refreshment. So I love reflecting on the grace of God within gradually transforming me into the likeness of Christ as that Living Water. It reminds me of Jesus words to the Samaritan woman. “The water I will give will become a spring of water within, welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14
