Romans 6:3-4 (NIV)
3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
We were born separated from God; disconnected, working out our lives in our own strength and will power. We were humans without purpose or hope. We were destined for death — eternal separation from God.
But through another death, we are made alive in Christ. Those who are baptized into Christ Jesus are baptized into his death. In Christ, death no longer has a grip on us. Take a moment to imagine your old nature hanging on the cross with Jesus. He carried it to death.
Why? So that we too may live a new life!
What changed? Our being changed. Our heart changed. Our destiny changed. Dead to sin and alive to God! We have been set free. That’s incredible!!
